How it works?
Download the MiX-Play App to your computer (works on macOS, iPadOS and iOS devices only), browse the game pack selection, make your choice, and let the fun begin! Once you’ve downloaded your game pack, you’ll get the presenter’s notes, a script with the questions and answers, and all the files to easily import into the Mix-Play app (one-touch operation). This file contain the graphics, music, and animation that makes Drink and Think Trivia the smash it is!
Each game pack comes complete with 6 different categories plus a bonus tie-breaking Speed Round, the script, and all the files you need to host a fun-filled evening at home or in your local pub. The Mix-Play app makes hosting a breeze. Simply import the game pack and you’ve got everything at your fingertips for an evening of fun!
Hosting in a pub and need specific graphics? (Pub logo, etc) Let me know and I’ll put it together for you
The Nitty Gritty
This game will move at the pace you set, so it can be rapid-fire, or drawn out over an hour or so, depending on the mood you’re trying to set.
I host the game at several pubs, you can too, or play at home with your friends and family.
Simply download the Mix16 Play App, open it up and import the game you’ve purchased. It will automatically load and be ready for action!
The first image is a silent, static, logo image, that you would have on the screen in advance of the game. When you advance, it goes to an explanation of the scoring indicating the game is based on a team with 4 brains, etc. This is obviously up to you, you can choose to play this way or not. You may be playing at home with family members who are playing individually, and that’s just fine, ignore the brain count. Next is the slide with the sample playsheet. Explain the categories and the rules (No phones or electronic assistance of any kind).
After that, let the fun begin!
After the intro to each category, there is background music for 10 seconds as you read the question. What works for me is, I have music cued on an iPad wired to a speaker that I play between each question after the above-mentioned background music. I usually play that background music for 45 to 60 seconds to give teams time to discuss and come up with an answer. Again, this and the pacing of the game is entirely up to you.
For the Pictogram category, these can be tough, so I often give teams as much as 3:00 mins to tackle each question.
In the pub situation, I gather up the completed papers at the end of the game and re-distribute them to opposing teams…so team 1 will mark team 2’s paper for example…
At the end, I gather the papers and arrange the scores from lowest to highest…announcing the winner at the end.
